Accumulation may be in-line (part of the normal production conveyor), or off-line.
“Accumulation” may also be more about “residence time”, such as where products need time to cool prior to the following process.
Various solutions include:
– Alpine and serpentine conveyors – long conveyor length for accumulating, in a very compact space
– Spirals – also quite long, and wide, with a relatively small footprint.
– Accumulation tables: often used for round products (bottles, jars etc), but may be designed for other products
